201 Rope with Lief & Icky: Next Steps for Beginners

Lief and Icky are back with their 201 Rope class!

This class is perfect for the person that has started their rope journey, maybe has taken a class or two, and is looking to get a different perspective or brush up on the basics.

In this class Icky and Lief will show their connective approach to rope that focuses more on the person and less on learning patterns.

They both believe that you do not need to know how to tie complex knots and patterns to be able to play with rope. Lief and Icky will help you explore key elements of foundational rope knowledge and show you how to play with them using fun games and exercises. You hopefully walk away from this class excited to play with your new found rope skills!

Prerequisite: None, knowledge of single column ties helpful but not necessary

Materials needed: 4 hanks for rope. Instructors will be using jute.

*** Lief & Icky are teaching a companion class called 101-Rope on SEPT 11. Find details here. ***

About the presenters:

Lief Bound (He/They) and Icky (He/They) are queer and trans rope educators and performance artists currently residing in San Francisco, California. Lief Bound is a rope switch who found their love of rope ten years ago and believes that rope can be the most honest way that we can connect with each other. Icky is a switchy pain enthusiast who started their rope bottoming exploration ten years ago and is most passionate about exploring intersectionality and positionality in consent. Their teaching styles bring the best of both worlds combining crucial perspectives of the top and the bottom. They value consent and safety in every topic they teach, bringing an inclusive and trauma-informed approach to learning rope bondage. Lief and Icky are most passionate about using multimedia process art to share their vision with the world and push the boundaries of what defines rope.
