A Midsummer Night's Dream Costume Ball

Titania and Oberon bid you welcome to the Midsummer Ball!

Though each of our monarchs is surpassing fair, you are bidden to choose your faction.

Will you array yourself in the dark splendor of Oberon - with his retinue of nocturnal goblins and sprites? His attendants are dark, spiky, and partake in the nature of all the creatures most feared and reviled by men.

Or will you place yourself in the radiant hands of the Fairy Queen? Her companions drape themselves in gossamer dew. They can be luminous, iridescent. They partake in Beauty and Glamor.

Seelie or Unseelie - all of us will honor our hosts by dancing, playing Hide the Baby, drinking Weird Concoctions, buying and selling favors from one another with borrowed fairy gold, and getting rid of any pesky names we don't want anymore. And of course, if we so choose we may whack one another's bums and copulate wildly in the moonlight! That's right - al fresco floggings, and the cries of the Beast With Two Backs, will be offered to the Moon in our Garden of Wonders.

At midnight, two Grand Prizes will be awarded to the King and Queen's favorite revelers. And be advised, they are lavish gifts indeed.

The party will take place in Oakland, CA. The address will be provided upon purchase of a ticket.

BYOB

We will provide Weird Concoctions as mixers, or standalone non-alcoholic beverages. If you'd like to drink alcohol, please bring your own bottle.

Wear either ethereal or dark fairy attire (to express an alliance w/either Titania or Oberon)

Play safely and consensually

Respect our space & one another

Communicate your desires clearly

DON'T:

Touch anyone without consent

Cruel or destructive pranks

Take photos

Cruise aggressively

Gawk or be a nuisance in play spaces

Get too intoxicated

PAL SYSTEM

To attend you MUST arrive & leave with a responsible partner, your “PAL” for the night. You don’t have to be a couple but you are both responsible for each other during the party.

INCIDENT REPORTING: We seek to create a space that is very safe and welcoming. Please reach out to a host ASAP if there are any consent violations, or anyone makes you feel uncomfortable.

Covid Safety Policy

We ask everyone who attends to be vaccinated for covid, including a recent booster shot, if possible. Before entry to an event, each attendee must show proof of a negative result from a lab-based PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours, or a rapid test within the previous 24 hours.

(For at-home tests, please name and date the test result card and take a photo of the card to present at time of entry.)

Important Notice:

Please do not attend with any indication of having a fever, sore throat, or flu-like symptoms.

A limited number of Covid rapid tests will be available at the door for $20.

Note: taking a test on site will require a wait of at least 15 minutes before entering the event.
