Society is rife with myths around disability and sexuality, even going as far as saying disabled people can’t be sexual. But this just isn’t true! Disabled sexuality is creative, restorative, exploratory, and vast in how it looks from person to person.

In this pleasure-focused workshop, we’ll unpack some myths related to disabled sex, and learn tips and tricks for more accessible sex practices.

This workshop focused on the disabled experience (inclusive of physical, sensory, intellectual, neurodivergence, chronic health conditions, etc.), but is open to anyone looking to learn more about disabled sex, whether you’re a partner, friend, family member, or someone who might experience disability later on in life (technically all of us!).

There will be lots of opportunity to bring your own questions or concerns to the table to workshop them together, but participants are welcome to just listen and take the information in without participating.

Rachele Manett (they/she) is a queer, disabled sex educator, certified recreation therapist, and host of That Sex Showon AMI-TV. Their work is influenced predominantly by their own experience with disability, as well as a background in the health care and disability sectors and a masters degree exploring acquired physical disability and sexuality. While her work explores all sorts of sexuality-related topics, Rachele holds a particular love towards disabled sexuality and accessible sex practices.

Rachele has been a guest on Access Tech Live, Disability After Dark with Andrew Gurza, and The Pulse with Joeita Gupta, and does presentations and panels related to disabled sexuality for organizations all over Canada.

We're offering a limited number of free class spots to folks with financial need; please fill out this form if you are interested. Recipients will be chosen based on need and contacted at least 3 days prior to class to confirm.
