Beginner Rope Intensive
a workshop with Parker
This intensive workshop delves into the practice of rope bondage/shibari with experienced practitioners.
Through step-by-step instruction and hands-on practice, participants will learn multiple techniques for tying and being tied. In addition to rope handling and ties, the workshop models and teaches methods of communication, negotiation, consent, body awareness, risk assessment and risk reduction regarding rope/shibari play.

Beginners welcome! No prior experience required. No partner or special equipment needed.
What you need for the workshop: If you already have your own rope, please bring it. If you don't have your own rope, there will be rope available for sale.
A rope partner is not required. Some of the hands-on activities work better with a partner, but solo attendees are also welcome!
About the Instructor:
Parker (they) is a queer, non-binary rope performer and educator with 16+ years of rope experience. Parker is a versatile rope top who enjoys tying others, self-tying, and sharing their passion for rope. As an instructor, Parker enjoys breaking down complex scenes and into teachable skills and techniques. Parker respects and appreciates that all bodies are different and that there are no “one-size-fits-all” techniques. Parker strives to foster an inclusive, affirming environment for adults of all bodies, histories, and identifications to learn and enjoy rope. Parker offers workshops and private lessons for levels ranging from novice to advanced, hosts Queer Rope Social, and is a co-founder of Coil & Cord Studio. Parker has presented rope workshops and performances at numerous conventions & venues across North America and Europe, including Tethered Together, RopeCraft, Anatomie (London, UK), Tension Montreal, Vox Body Studio, Bondage Expo Dallas, Shibaricon, TES Fest, and many more.
