Black Heart: The Emo Experience

Got the urge to paint your eyes black again, to don those too tight ripped jeans, and pull that hoodie back over your shoulders again? Ready to scream out The Anthem that every emo kid beats inside their heart? Well then here is your time as AfterDark presents “Black Heart: The Emo Experience”, a night where you’re invited to be our Dirty Little Secret and embrace the Elder Emo within you.

All of the classics will be spinning on the speakers throughout the night as the venue sets the atmosphere that you felt while headbanging to your iPod while walking down Ocean Avenue, with all of the classic songs spinning on the speakers. We’re gonna MakeDamnSure that snacks will be provided that rival the pizza rolls that you used to crave, and a dance floor where you can find yourself in The Middle of a crowd moshing and dancing to your heart’s content. In need of a little makeup? We’ll have you covered with someone ready to help ensure your eyes are shadowed appropriately.

When you’re ready to indulge in The Taste of (K)Ink, then Sugar We’re Goin Down(stairs) to the the fully equipped dungeon, which will provide a slightly softer atmosphere that invites you to explore your desires Maybe you’ll find yourself Face Down on a spanking bench, or Hands Down as you lean against a cross, or letting one of our “House Punks” work out some pent on angst with you.

Whatever you’re looking for to indulge your inner emo, you’ll find it at Black Heart: The Emo Experience.

The Venue

This event will be held at Stopgap in San Francisco. The address will be provided to ticket holders for privacy and safety reasons. For planning purposes, it is in SOMA and a 10 minute walk from the UN Plaza/Civic Center BART station.

While a new venue in its current iteration, the building itself has a rich history in the kink community. The first floor has social spaces, lockers, and two bathrooms. Descend into the 3100 square foot basement to enjoy historic equipment that many in the community may have enjoyed in days gone by plus some newer pieces from our collection. There will be crosses, benches, tables, bondage chairs, cages, and much more! Stopgap is not only located in an important place of kink history, it's a place of history in the making right now.

COVID-19 Safety

1. All guests MUST take a rapid test on the day of the event, before arriving, and write the date on the test or immediately next to the test.
2. Take a photo of the negative test & show it to the door guard when you arrive.
3. We will have a limited number of tests for sale at $25 each in case anyone is unable to pre-test.

Dress Code:

Unlike other kink parties, we encourage you to dress like you did when you let the emo within you run wild.

1. Tight ripped jeans, dark hoodies, leather wrist cuffs all welcomed
2. Eye shadow encouraged but not required
3. Want to dress a bit fancier? Maybe show us what you’d wear to The Black Parade

Whatever it is, we want it here. Bring it. Just be mindful that you might have to wait in line outside when you arrive and that you are welcome to arrive in regular clothes and then change into your kinky outfit once you get inside. There are lockers and bag racks to store your clothes and bags.

Accessibility Notes

The entrance to the space is on the ground floor and is fully-accessible, including lockers, social areas, play areas, and two accessible bathrooms. The basement of the venue can only be reached via stairs. There will be music playing throughout the night, and ear plugs are available for free at the front desk. There are colored lights in use throughout the venue, including rotating “party lights” for ambiance. Cell phones are prohibited from being used in the venue and must be stored; however, you may speak to a host about reasonable accommodations if needed for things such as continuous glucose monitoring.
