Bound to Rise Flagship Experience in Oahu

🌴 Bound To Rise comes to Honolulu!

Discover what happens when rope is used as a pathway to: attuned presence, nervous system regulation, embodied connection, dominance and submission, shadow work, and more. 🌙

Flying in from Oakland CA, glory moonfire is bringing her sensual, relational, and embodied approach to shibari to the islands! Having hosted 80+ shibari events across 3 years, she is dedicated to sharing the healing and nourishing aspects of rope through guided group experiences. Her facilitation makes shibari accessible, approachable, and deeply nourishing for newcomers and the experienced alike. Don't miss this unique opportunity to experience the freedom of authentic expression and play supported by this one-of-a-kind container.

Bound to Rise is a conscious community embodiment experience that blends presence, connection, and shibari into one meaningful (and delightful) evening.

Rooted in relationality, learning, and respect, it offers a container where people can engage in experiential learning at their own pace.

We honor the balance between curiosity and caution, comfort and risk.

By practicing presence and attunement, attendees become active, conscious participants in their exploration of self and other. People describe Bound to Rise as “safe”, “inclusive”, “therapeutic”, and “truly transformative." 🌀

Whether new to rope or experienced, we welcome you to connect, learn, and express your authentic self.

🖐️ What can I expect at Bound to Rise?

The evening begins with an all-levels rope workshop to learn foundational skills for creating a fun and meaningful rope experience. Then, we transition into an open jam with space for socializing, snacking, rope labbing, and rope scenes. During the jam, a House Top will be available to tie participants and help create a magical night. ✨🌌

The workshop is thoughtfully designed to weave people together in gentle ways, so that by the time the jam comes around you've already had diverse aligned interactions with half a dozen people you could potentially tie with. We encourage exploration and experimentation, and for everyone to practice both tying and being tied.

Everything we offer is an invitation—you're always welcome to adjust an exercise or sit out and observe if that better suits you. ⭐

You're welcome to come partnered or solo. It's common for people to show up solo and make meaningful connections.

🏝️ Venue: Private Mansion in Hawaii Kai, overlooking China Walls

🪢 Workshop: Bound to Rise Flagship Experience - Rope as a Tool for Connection

Come discover the presence, regulation, and pleasure available in shibari. We'll explore the foundational elements of tension, compression, and sensation through a series of gentle, embodied partner exercises. You'll learn how to safely tie your partner's wrists together. And we'll bring all these elements together with a “hug tie” – a wonderful tie for grounding, attuning, and co-regulating with a partner.

Through guided hands-on exercises, you'll be invited to experience both tying and being tied, developing a deeper understanding of rope dynamics from both perspectives. Whether you're brand new to rope or looking to enhance your skills, this workshop offers accessible techniques to transform your rope play into a more expressive conversation between tying partners. No prior experience necessary.

💙 Community Guidelines

We are invested in creating a community where growth and experimentation are supported by safety and consent. To that end, we invite all participants to create a shared culture based on our community guidelines:

🐛This is a place of practice. Come and learn new skills, meet people, and share what you can. We hope to cultivate a community centered around practicing rope in a safe and supportive container.

🐒Take really good care of yourself. Giving or receiving "no" can be a challenge in our wider culture. Let's use this as a space to practice being honest about what we want, what we don't want, and what we're not sure about. Having boundaries is how we can be in good relationship with one another.

🐝 Let's take care of one another. By practicing together, in community, we can be a source of support for people around us, and receive support from them as well. We're not strangers here, or at least not for long. The rope community is small. Say hi.

🌱 Play within your skill level. There's a wide range of what's possible with rope. It takes training—more than you might initially think—to build awareness of all the possible risks. Aim to play within your risk tolerance. Be safe and take it slow.

🐙We all make mistakes. If you experienced a boundary violation, a consent oopsie, or anything that just made you feel a bit uncomfortable for any reason, please let us know. Seriously—no matter how small or big! Having that information helps us understand what's happening in the space, recognize where we as a community could use more awareness, and help individuals understand their impact and potentially change their behavior for the better.

🧡 Offerings and Definitions

All-levels Workshop: Workshop for newbies, beginners, and intermediates to learn relational and tactical aspects of rope.

🍓 Snack lounge: Potluck-style social space. Bring a snack to share with others and connect with like-minded folks. Pro tip: Bring finger food that can be easily fed to others who are tied up, like chocolate or cherries!

🧪 Rope lab: Place and practice for experimentation. Unlike in a rope scene, rope labbing is informal and encourages dialogue for learning about knots, sensations, boundary exploration, and more.

🌟 Rope scene: Negotiated rope experience. People outside the scene are welcome to observe, but please refrain from chatting nearby.

🎩 House top: Experienced rope casters who are available to tie with participants during the jam. This is a great opportunity for folks who are new to rope to be tied.
