Chest Loading Box Tie with Topologist

This advanced class presents a tie that maintains the general look, feel, and functionality of a 3-rope takate-kote, but redirects most of the load during suspensions onto the torso. This technique reduces the danger of injuring nerves in the arms, the most common serious rope injury. Many bottoms also find it allows for longer, more comfortable suspensions, and reduces strain on the shoulders.

We’ll learn the steps for the CTKv4 while discussing some of the theory behind the design. This class will be limited in size so that everyone can get feedback on their ties and help with any needed modifications. There will be hardpoints available for testing out your results. Time allowing, we’ll also explore some of the ways elements of the CTK can be incorporated into other ties.

Prerequisites

Tops should already be comfortable tying some type of suspension-quality 3-rope TK with a stem.
