Consensual Nonconsent (CNC)—sometimes called “rape play”—is one of the most common fantasies among adults. Studies suggest that approximately 40% of people over 18 have experienced some form of fantasy involving being “forced” into sex or intimate activities.
This class begins by exploring why these fantasies are so common and what psychological and emotional factors may contribute to them. We’ll discuss how to determine whether CNC is something best left as a fantasy or something you may wish to explore safely with a trusted partner.
Participants will learn about the complexities of consent and negotiation in CNC dynamics, including clear communication, boundary-setting, and the legal considerations that can arise when exploring this type of play. The class will also cover establishing multiple layers of safeguards to help ensure that everyone involved feels secure and respected.
We’ll discuss aftercare, often especially important in CNC scenarios—and explore strategies for planning a thoughtful, well-negotiated CNC scene.
