Community Resilient Recovery Circle

Resilient Recovery Circles offer a safe community space to explore living free from unwanted coping strategies

The addiction wound carries a great deal of stigma and shame. Many of us who suffer from this wound have found that disconnecting from our bodies – through overworking, spending, drinking, eating, smoking, sex, etc – was the only way to maintain some semblance of peace, however fleeting. Unfortunately, many recovery spaces fail to include this essential practice of coming home to our bodies, which puts us at a major disadvantage.

Resilient Recovery Circles provide a relaxed, trauma-informed space where we can explore what it means to live safely in our bodies with compassion, curiosity, and authenticity while creating liberation from unwanted coping strategies. We recognize all forms of addiction when we use the term “recovery” and intend for these groups to be fully inclusive. Whether you’ve been in recovery for years, months, or days or are debating whether sobriety is right for you, you are welcome!

Every group will follow the same rhythm of guided somatic practice that supports bodily intelligence and nervous system regulation, along with time to connect authentically with yourself and each other. You may wish to wear comfortable clothing. While no special preparation is needed, please bring anything that helps you feel extra cozy and supported (a favorite blanket or travel mug of tea, for example).

Rental Coverage and Facilitator Support 💰

The San Francisco Community Nights events are not commercial events; this is not a business. The events are community service; the intention is to foster friendships and emotional and relational skills.

We are renting a beautiful space in the Mission, and contributing $15 per person will be utilized to cover the space rent.

Every facilitator stepping in to lead us through the event will put time and energy into preparing and organizing, and we want to support their efforts. The facilitator will pay $5 - $20 of the total ticket price.

On Free Tickets. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. I have created five free tickets; please grab one if you need to.

More on Free tickets. I’m offering five free tickets for every event, and I’m doing it with an honor system. Just grab one if you need to, no questions asked. I intend to offer free tickets to have those events 100% accessible to everybody, especially if you’re struggling financially, like you’ve been laid off, making minimum wage, or being unemployed right now. There is no shame about that; that should never be a barrier to being part of this community.
