Consensual Non Monogamy Discussion

The third Wednesday of every month is CNM Umbrella discussion night at The Henderson Equality Center. This group is designed to support those who identify as having relationships that fall under the CNM Umbrella. These may include: Polyamory, Swinging or Open Relationships.

Consensual Non-Monogamy (CNM) is an umbrella term for relationships in which all partners give explicit consent to engage in romantic, intimate, and/or sexual relationships with multiple people. These are consensual relationships, not to be confused with infidelity. CNM can and often do take a variety of forms based on the individuals needs within their unique relationships.

This month our topic of discussion will include cohabitation. In reality there are as many different configurations as there are people, houses, and groupings of these,

but everyone implements their set up in their own unique ways. The number of people living in a space, whether you move into an existing house or find a new one that suits your ideal needs, whether all the people move in with one another are in romantic relationships or simply metas under a shared roof. How you decide your chosen amount of alone time, when your number of partners who don't reside with you but come by, and whether or not your house also makes space for kids. All this along with your budget can play into the choices you might make about how to reside (or not) with your partner(s). Choices about these matters are both individual and practical.

Respect privacy, speak with love and assume good intentions, focus on self and use "I" statements, and respect that we are all peers giving peer support, not professional advice.
