CRACKing the Code with Zee

A Beginner's Course on Whips, Quirts, and Dragon Tails

This workshop helps bridge the divide between other impact play and whips by covering the toys often not discussed. We’re going to break down a range of toys from dragon tails and tongues, to quirts and single tails. This session emphasizes safety, education, and is a direct response to the many whip classes I’ve taken over the last 15+ years.

Most whip classes are often attended by only a portion of people who actually own a true whip, and the rest of the attendees often have whip-like objects, or nothing at all. With that in mind I wanted to build a class steeped in information, comparisons between toy types, and providing both inexperienced and experienced players with something to learn. In the class we cover terms and vernacular, taxonomy of the toys, how to throw and catch these stingy toys, how to safely practice whips.

This class was taught for SoJ in May for the first time receiving a large swath of positive feedback.

About the Instructor

I’m Zee (he/they), I’ve been in the kink community since turning 18, nearly 2 decades ago in the old SF Citadel. I’ve been teaching both in and outside of kink since I was in high school, and in the kink world since my early 20’s as well as serving as both a house top, and house bottom. During Covid, I decided to focus a lot more energy on kink community education and have spent the last 3.5 years pursuing that at full steam with private and public engagements including a very well-received Ion class last year. I teach classes for Society of Janus focused on newbies and dungeon etiquette multiple times a month, as well as multiple other classes and I’m currently the top-selling teacher for SoJ. I’ve taught for WickedGrounds, AfterDark, Bonobo, and several smaller Bay Area organizations. I’ve been designing the classes I’ve wanted to see as a queer impact switch.
