Hotel Information

The host hotel is in San Jose, and we've got more rooms than we've ever had. But we still anticipate the rooms selling out. We have a Special Group Rate for the event (requires a 2 night minimum stay)

o King and Double Queen Rooms Available.

o Event Attendees Grouped Together by Floor

o Go till the Playspace closes and still make it to class in the morning!

Volunteer

We can’t do it without volunteers. We are looking for people who are helpful, positive, and willing to go the extra mile. Please fill out this application as fully as possible. Once you submit this form you will be contacted if we can offer you a position. Lodging, meals, and merchandise are not included.

We are looking for mostly 6 but a VERY FEW 12-hour volunteers in exchange for partial or full compensation into the event (lodging, meals, and merchandise cannot be discounted). Partial volunteers will work 6 hours of time and receive a discounted admission of 50% for the weekend registration. Full volunteers will work 12 hours and receive a free weekend registration. In order to be considered for a 12-hour spot, you must have a proven track record of excellent volunteer or staffing work with Dark Odyssey.

Sometimes volunteers continue to be needed up to a week before the convention, so it is difficult to know when we are "done" filling spots. Thank you for understanding.

NOTE: All refunds will be charged a refund fee. If you register BEFORE you are approved to volunteer you will get a credit LESS the $25 refund fee. *We know you're eager to get a host hotel room so if you register on the first day with a host hotel room the fee will be waived.

IONS

IONs are fun and creative little events conceived and organized by your fellow attendees. IONs can be anything you want to share with the DO community. Games, Mixers, Art Projects, a class you want to try out ... creativity and imagination are encouraged.

Past Ions have included things like Body Mechanics, Neurodivergent meet and greet, Kinky Swap Meet, Trick or Treating, Electro Play, ... the list goes on and on. If you can dream it, we may give you the space and time to make it a reality. We’re excited to see what can happen at a hotel!

What you need to know:

* We have room for about 15 Ions

* You must be registered for the event to submit an ION (application will be listed on the attendee page and linked in the attendee Discord server

* You get advertising in our nifty ION program

* We put your ION on the schedule so other attendees know

* Partial event credit available for the Organizer ($50) & one helper ($25)

Multiple IONs from the same attendee will be permitted on a space available basis but each attendee is only eligible for one partial event credit.
