Ecstatic Dance San Diego is back in Encinitas on Friday, July 25th, with Contact Beyond Contact beginner workshop led by Yajaira followed by Ecstatic Dance set by DJ gEM 💎

Ecstatic Dance is a community movement, a sacred space for you to explore, unwind and unfold your true expression.

Come be held by the dance floor, the music and the community, connect non-verbally with yourself and others and tap into the magic of this liberating movement space.

Experience CBC a holistic dance and a healing journey that moves body, mind and soul. We weave together elements of authentic movement , contact improvisation, Qi gong and Buddhist philosophy. Through the dance of relationships we explore boundaries and connections with ourselves and one another.

An invitation to meet yourself and others softly, honestly through dance.

No prior needed, everyone is welcome.

What this workshop will include self and partnered dance, reflection and processing . Learning specific tools to deepen our movement practice.

gEM loves music in all it’s facets. With her roots in NYC, she matured and steeped in California. Through a lifetime of chasing the all-night dance party and sounds that make her soul wiggle, gEM has acquired an eclectic musical palette that transcends timelines to blend genres with ease.

Her unique hippie whomp with an edge is what gives her beats that gEM-y bedazzled magic to shape moments worth moving in.

Ecstatic Dance Guidelines

1. Move however you wish

2. No talking on the dance floor

3. Respect yourself and one another

4. No Shoes, No Booze

5. Please also refrain from photos, videos, strong scents/perfumes, glitter and shoes on the dance floor.

6. Touch is Sacred ~ Many people dance in their own space, and others share their space with another. To engage in a dance with someone, use sensitivity: Are they open to sharing their space with me? Mirror movements, offer a hand, brush by, make eye contact, and see & feel how they respond.
