Ecstatic Dance San Diego is back in Pt. Loma Friday, April 18th featuring Sudakra with opening Dance before Dance facilitated by Ohana & Aion.

Ecstatic Dance is a community movement, a sacred space for you to explore, unwind and unfold your true expression.

Come be held by the dance floor, the music and the community, connect non-verbally with yourself and others and tap into the magic of this liberating movement space.

The Dance Before the Dance

There is a moment before movement begins—a breath, a shift, an opening. This class is about arriving into that space with curiosity and presence. Before ecstatic dance, we slow down, tune into our bodies, and explore the subtleties of weight, balance, and connection.

Through gentle, guided exercises, we awaken our senses and release tension, inviting our bodies to move with ease and intuition. Whether you’re new to dance or a seasoned mover, this practice offers a foundation for play, trust, and deeper connection with yourself and others. Expect softness, laughter, and a remembering of the simple joy of movement.

Ohana Friedrick is an Embodiment & Intimacy Coach who creates spaces where people can meet themselves—exactly as they are. With roots in Tantra, Dance, Music, and Conscious Touch, her work is about being present with what’s true in each moment, helping others reconnect with their authentic selves. By simply holding space for clarity and compassion, she invites people to trust their own inner wisdom, knowing that their truth will always guide them toward deeper intimacy and connection.

Aion Merila Night is an embodiment guide who sees dance as a way to explore presence and connection—a mirror of our relationship with self, others, and the world. With roots in meditation, yoga, and somatic exploration, he brings in intuitive movement, contact improvisation, and the Axis Syllabus to invite deeper awareness through the body. His facilitation is gentle and grounded, creating space to return to essence and move with authenticity.

Together, Aion and Ohana offer a grounded, heart-centered space that blends structure with spontaneity. Their co-facilitation invites people into deeper embodiment, trust, and connection—meeting each moment with curiosity, compassion, and care.

Sudakra ~ Vyasadeva is a conscious music artist and healer, blending Sacred Sound, Mantra, and Mindfulness to create transformative experiences. Rooted in Vedic traditions, his DJ sets and live performances inspire deep connection, healing, and unity. With live instruments & special guest performers Sudakra bridges musical realms and brings ancient songs from across the globe as he guides audiences on a journey beyond music into rhythm, spirit, and awakening.

Ecstatic Dance Guidelines

1. Move however you wish

2. No talking on the dance floor

3. Respect yourself and one another

4. No Shoes, No Booze

5. Please also refrain from photos, videos, strong scents/perfumes, glitter and shoes on the dance floor.

6. Touch is Sacred ~ Many people dance in their own space, and others share their space with another. To engage in a dance with someone, use sensitivity: Are they open to sharing their space with me? Mirror movements, offer a hand, brush by, make eye contact, and see & feel how they respond.
