Mayvn (she/her) is an Oakland-based DJ and live musician who performs clarinet and saxophone — wirelessly, with effects — woven into her DJ sets. Her sound draws from years of deep study: she holds a degree in Clarinet Performance from the Eastman School of Music and a diploma in Ethnomusicology, with hands-on training in Turkish and Balkan music (Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria), cumbia (Colombia and Mexico), Assyrian music (London), and traditional Punjabi wedding performance in California's Central Valley.

She spent four years touring with Balkan Bump as their clarinetist, with festival highlights including Red Rocks and Coachella. Her DJ credits include Envision Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, Electric Forest, Paradise Music Festival (Canada), Same Same But Different, and Unison Festival. Mayvn plays on CDJs or her own DDJ 800 setup, and always tailors her sets to the dance community she's playing for.

Ecstatic dance is a free-form movement practice where the music leads and the mind follows. No steps to learn, no partners required, no alcohol — just a room full of people moving however their body wants to move, from barely swaying to full-on floor-rolling catharsis. The DJ shapes the journey, typically building from slow and grounding to peak euphoria and back down to stillness. What emerges is something between a nightclub, a meditation, and a tribal ritual — sweaty, sincere, and surprisingly moving.
