Fat Lab: A Rope Space for Large-Bodied Rope Enthusiasts

Inspired by Ceci Ferox (Berlin) and the event they facilitated at VoxBody in October 2023, we are thrilled to continue our Fat Lab events into 2025!

Welcome to Fat Lab, a space tailored specifically for large-bodied individuals and their rope partners.

Hosted by AMermaidRenegade, IvyLimieux and Alicia T-Corn, our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels empowered to explore and learn the art of rope bondage, regardless of body size or shape. This jam offers a supportive space where individuals can build connections, share knowledge, and celebrate their bodies without judgment.

At Fat Lab, we recognize and seek to address the challenges faced by those whose bodies may not conform to mainstream ideals. Whether you've had difficulty finding representation in events, educational programs, or performance settings, or if you've ever doubted your ability to participate due to societal norms perpetuated online or in your local community, you've found a welcoming community here!

Join us at Fat Lab and discover a community that embraces diversity, fosters creativity, and celebrates the beauty of all bodies!

Dates on the calendar through April 2025! (please register for a ticket for each date individually)

What to expect:

* doors at 2pm // doors closed, no late entry after 2:30pm

* opening circle/discussion/demo/skill share (approx 2:30-3:30): this will vary month to month from being a roundtable for discussion, guest demos or a facilitated skill share

* open tying and social time (~3:30-5)

Who is this event for?

* Please note this event centers large-bodied rope enthusiasts. We welcome larger bodies and the rope partners who tie/are tied by them. Allies are welcome to listen in and understand, but please consider waiting to get tickets until closer to each event date, in order to prioritize the folks this event is centered on!

* Please note: opening circle content will vary month to month, and will be announced ahead of time, whether it will be a discussion, demo or skill share. The length of opening circle will vary based on each particular event's activity, our best estimate is "approximately 2:30-3:30". The rest of the event time is dedicated to open tying/practice/social time for attendees. We always encourage peer learning and skill sharing together! Hosts are not necessarily offering specific instruction but will do their best to support you in your collaborative learning; please approach Emily, Alicia or Ivy if you have questions or are looking for guidance as we cultivate this space together!

If you have questions about whether this event is for YOU, please email ivylimieux.rope@gmail.com.

* All experience levels are welcome and encouraged to participate! Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or new to rope bondage, everyone is welcome to come, tie, be tied, and experience the joy of rope in a space that honors and respects every individual's unique journey.

If finances are a barrier for your attendance, please email us at voxbody@gmail.com; we have limited scholarship spots available for this event!
