Flowing With Finger Floggers: Rhythmic and Sensual Impact Play (Levels 1 & 2)

Flowing With Finger Floggers: Rhythmic and Sensual Impact Play (Level 1 & 2)

Dennis (@flogandflow)

Course Description

Impact play isn't just about beating up on someone. It can be an art form - rhythmic, sensual, and devilishly delicious. In this workshop, Dennis teaches a visionary style of flogging rooted in flow arts, using finger floggers as the primary tool.

You may see finger floggers as simply a variation on traditional handled floggers. In this workshop, you will learn to approach them as their own unique tool, wielding them in ways that are physically impossible with handled floggers and uncovering an entirely new realm of impact play.

Want a glimpse of what’s possible? Here’s a short highlight reel showing finger flogging in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rngDK_K9f4A

The workshop will consist of two separate progressive classes. Level 1 is an introduction to finger floggers. If you have no experience with floggers of any sort, you’ll definitely want to start here. If you have plenty of experience with traditional handled floggers, but not much with finger floggers … you may still want to start here, given the newness of the concepts you’ll be learning.

Level 2 assumes that you are experienced with floggers and ready to learn advanced moves that are possible only with finger floggers. The prerequisite is that you know at least four-point Florentine. The added irony is that if you’re very experienced with handled floggers, you may have to unlearn some techniques already ingrained in you, in order to learn new techniques for finger floggers. So it might still be worthwhile to start with Level 1. Either way, be prepared to feel a little challenged as well.

Course Format

Each class is 90 minutes long, consisting of 60 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of practice time. The classes are ticketed separately.

This is a hands-on instructional workshop, so please bring your own finger floggers. If you don’t have a set, click here for information on where to get one:

If you are unable to provide a set of finger floggers for yourself, we will have a limited number available to loan out. After you’ve purchased your workshop ticket, please contact us before January 18th to reserve a loaner set. Make sure to include the name and email address you used with your purchase:

Note that this is not a beginning impact play class. Our expectation is that you already know how to impact top safely, or that you will learn this on your own. Click here for some resources on consent, negotiation, and safety in impact play:

Level 1 Agenda

  1. Discussion of finger floggers versus handled floggers, advantages and disadvantages of each
  2. Finger flogger construction and what to look for in a set
  3. Demonstration of finger floggers in action
  4. Basic movements, proper body positioning and balance, terminology
  5. Intermediate flogging moves
  6. Four-point Florentine (time permitting)

Level 2 Agenda

  1. Terminology review
  2. Discussion of the merits (and extraneities) of Florentine
  3. Four- and six-point Florentine
  4. Reverse Florentine
  5. Building on Florentine
  6. Thinking outside the Florentine box

Do I Need a Partner?

No partner is required—this workshop is structured for tops to learn technique.

However, if you'd like to bring an impact bottom, you may do so with a separate $5 “Impact Bottom” ticket.

Bottoms may join during the second portion of each class, when tops will have an opportunity to practice the material. Please note:

  1. Bottoms will not receive instruction
  2. Their role is simply to provide a body for practice, if desired, and feedback to their partner/Top

This setup helps keep the teaching space focused while still allowing partners or couples to participate together.

What to Bring

  1. Your own finger floggers, if you have them
  2. Or contact us to reserve a loaner set (After you’ve purchased your ticket, please contact us before January 18th to reserve one, and make sure to include the name and email address you used with your purchase).
