Stopgap - Home Base For Folsom Street Fair

This Folsom Day, Stopgap is the place to be! From 10am Sunday to 1am Monday, we’re throwing open the doors to San Francisco’s hottest new kinky venue. You’ll have the perfect space to dress up, store your belongings in a secure locker, and dive headfirst into the wild excitement of the Folsom Street Fair.

Keep your stuff safe at the Stopgap coat check and hit the Fair, knowing that you’ve got a home base to return to whenever you need a break from the crowds and the weather. You can come and go all day long to take a breather and recharge. With refreshments available for purchase, Stopgap is your go-to spot for staying fueled and fired up for everything the Folsom Street Fair has to offer.

Stopgap has two floors, and the upstairs is fully accessible with two CLEAN accessible bathrooms and accessible play equipment. Make new connections and soak in the Folsom spirit in the upstairs social area. Downstairs, our large 3100 square foot dungeon is packed with crosses, spanking benches, and suspension points just begging to be used; people are welcome to play all day. Plus, there is a quiet cuddle room perfect for recentering and recharging your social battery. See below for more details about the venue.

The Afterparty Ramps Up Around 6 PM

Starting around 6pm, we’ll kick into Fair Afterparty mode! The club gets hotter, and the air becomes more charged. This is where the real fun begins. With the fair winding down, it’s time to bring all that Folsom energy into the club and make your night an unforgettable one. Whether you’re hanging with (old or new) playing in the dungeon, getting cozy in the cuddle room, or showing off your new gear, the afterparty is where the fun ramps up. Bought some new toys at the fair? Bring them back and break them in the same day!

Whether you’re here to play, relax, or just hang out, we’ve got everything you need for an unforgettable Folsom experience in a San Francisco dungeon worthy of legend. This is the party to celebrate Folsom—don’t miss it!

2. The entrance to the space is on the ground floor and is fully-accessible, including lockers, social areas, play areas, and two accessible bathrooms. The basement of the venue can only be reached via stairs. There will be music playing throughout the night, and ear plugs are available for free at the front desk. There are colored lights in use throughout the venue, including rotating “party lights” for ambiance. Cell phones are prohibited from being used in the venue and must be stored; however, you may speak to a host about reasonable accommodations if needed for things such as continuous glucose monitoring.

4. For Folsom Fever, AfterDark will be temporarily suspending our usual COVID policy. For this event only, no rapid tests will be required upon entry. We remain committed to safety, this is a one-time adjustment, and our standard protocol of requiring guests to present a dated, negative test will remain in force for all other AfterDark parties.

Venue:

Stopgap is the newest and oldest kink venue in San Francisco! While a new kink venue in its current iteration, the building itself has a rich history in the kink community as one of the prior locations of the SF Citadel. The first floor is fully accessible, with social and play spaces - including hardpoints. Descend into the 3100 square foot basement to play on equipment that many in the community may have enjoyed in years gone by plus some newer pieces from our collection. There will be crosses, benches, tables, bondage chairs, cages, and much more!

Much of the equipment was recovered from the Citadel's lost storage unit early in 2024 with additional pieces from AfterDark and Paradox. Come play on historic equipment in a historic venue at Stopgap - a place of history in the making right now!

Stopgap has social areas, a cuddle room, a sensual room, and all kinds of BDSM equipment. We provide safety and hygiene supplies, clean sheets, and more. Stopgap elevates kink experiences for guests and offers turnkey solutions to organizers, content-producers, and others.

Dress Code:

Dressing to the theme whenever there is one is strongly encouraged in order to help maintain the immersive ambiance of the event.

We recommend you wear the kind of outfit that makes you feel sexy, confident, and ready to take on the world! Whatever it is, we encourage you to dress up at least a little. Make an effort to impress, but if nothing else comes to mind then dress as you would for a fancy time out, or even dungeon blacks.

Tickets:

Presale tickets are recommended and cost 40. The door ticket price is 10 when you buy your ticket. Locks are not included. Please bring your own or buy one at the front desk for 10.
