Class Description

This class is meant to start the conversation about how to support transgender kinksters in their adventures in the kink world, and also in the wider community. We’ll briefly discuss gender theory and some basic terms and concepts so that we can better understand our trans siblings. We’ll then be diving in to ways to practice our allyship, starting with one-on-one interactions, like scene negotiations, to community-level allyship, such as interrupting transphobia and community advocacy. For trans folks, please know that I (the presenter) want your voices here so you can advocate for yourself and add your unique perspective, and please note that this training is primarily focused on supporting cisgender people in their learning.

Presenter Bio

Universe (they/them) has been haunting the SF BDSM and Leather communities since 2015ish. They’re a graduate of Venture 2024 and have taught for Foundations, covering topics on mental health and kinky fashion. They are an EMDR therapist, specializing in trauma work for LGBTQ+ folks. Their hope is that this training helps us as a community care for each other.

The health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance to us. While in class you will be expected to abide by all requirements listed below as well as any told to you by Foundations staff. Foundations will do everything in our power to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 exposure, however it is the sole responsibility of every individual attending to protect themselves from potential infection.

Requirements to Attend:

- Must fill out a waiver.

- Any physical contact must be negotiated and consented to by each individual.

- Must be 18 or older (as always).

- Must show photo ID at entrance.

- Must promptly follow all instruction given by Foundations staff.

Notes to Consider:

- If you are ill, or have symptoms indicative of COVID-19, please stay home—those who are ill with COVID-19 symptoms will not be admitted.

Class Details:

- Class is from 7pm-9pm.

- Doors open at 6:30, class starts promptly at 7:00.

- Doors are closed to entry at 7:00 when class starts.

- Please arrive at 6:30 for admittance if you are new.

The suggested donation is $20. Donations accepted by cash or credit card. No one turned away for lack of funds.
