This class will be held in person at the Folsom Street Community Center at 1286 Folsom street, San Francisco CA.

The Big Life

---

Class Description

Positivist psychology talks about types of lives eg a life of creativity (artist, builder, engineer), a life of pleasure (marine biology for an ocean-lover), and a life of ministration and benefaction (service to others, community engagement, etc), but there is another type… a customary life (doing what I “should” do, being who I “should” be). The latter can get in the way of all the others and all that we truly need to fulfill our selves. Those drawn to the BDSM community often are seeking deeper connection, beyond a shared interest in kink… a connection with others, community, something greater than ourselves. This class is not about how we do our kink, but about why we do it… and how our kink can help us achieve our highest selves.

Presenter Bio

In the late 70's, Silver Gryphon (SG) discovered the San Francisco leather community and sought education the only way that was available then, by apprenticing to a gay leather couple. Since then, many others have contributed to his education, notably including several dozen who have served him over the years. He graduated from the Journeyman 3 Academy and has been the Head Master of Leather Quest in San Francisco. He created and has been facilitating Human Alive for about 20 years, a weekly program that supports authenticity in authority-exchange relationships.
