Are you ready for another unforgettable experience that combines the thrill of board games, the opportunities for learning of our workshops, and the vibrant energy of a welcoming community? Look no further than Geekaholic, the ultimate destination for connoisseurs of kink, geeks, nerds, and newcomers to the vibrant NYC scene!

THINGS TO KNOW:

• This is a munch, meaning no sex acts will be allowed at this event, and kink is only allowed in the classroom area upstairs during relevant workshops/highlights. However, discussion is allowed and encouraged anywhere during the event! This is a social gathering to meet fellow geeks and kinksters and enjoy a fun evening of games and conversation. • As always, this event is open to anyone and everyone to attend. We aim to create a safe space for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized groups. If anyone ever makes you feel unsafe at our events, please reach out to our staff.
• Our events are at a dedicated venue at Prime Produce Co-op and are graciously hosted by PLAN Gaming (https://www.plangaming.org/), which is a non-profit incubator. All people present in the space will specifically be there for this event, so we can talk openly about kink and related topics.
• At Geekaholic, we believe in making our events accessible to everyone, so Geekaholic Munches operate on a "Pay What You Can" model. While we suggest a donation of $20, every contribution helps us sustain our partnership with Prime Produce and helps enrich our own future event programming.
• The space houses 90 games in its library and counting (see the full list on our discord). But also, feel free to bring your own games! All board game skill levels, from newbie onward, are welcome!
• Our venue has a dedicated Jamaican café with liquor offerings on premises. Our events used to allow outside food and drink, but this is no longer the case. Exceptions can be granted to volunteers and people with dietary restrictions upon request.
• We usually play board games for about five hours and then go for drinks at a nearby bar. Everyone (21+) is welcome for both!

✨ January Highlights✨

6:00pm - 7:00pm Ice Breakers!

It's a brand new year and its freezing outside, our first hour is devoted to Ice Breakers giving Geekaholics new and old a chance to introduce themselves and meet new friends! Join us for a town hall styled cozy get together as we sit and get to know one another, make introductions, ask questions, tell stories and more.

7:15pm - Console Corner - Mario Party Jamboree!

It's a MARIO! Come join @CuddleKnight for a game of Mario Party Jamboree on the Nintendo Switch. Can you de-throne Cuddle's as the Mario Super Star? Come show him how its done and be a Mini-game Master. Looking for 3-7 players (single or teamed). Winner will receive 3 Custom Amiibo Coins of their choosing! Feel free to bring your own Switch Joycons!

7:30pm - 9pm - Featured Class - BDSM 101 - Presented by @theDommeKat

Curious about BDSM? Want to learn more about the origins of our beautiful practice? Beginners and vets alike will benefit from this workshop as we discuss the history, dos and don’ts, and all those abbreviations (there are so many, right?!) we encounter.

If you’re looking forward to your first kink event party, we got you covered with consent, scene negotiation and a few kinky moves for your BDSM toolbox.

📍 Am I at the right place?

The building is unmarked since it's an event space and food co-op office normally (because hey, New York). Come into 424 West 54th Street and find our signup desk right at the entrance.

🎭 What is a Munch?

A BDSM munch is a friendly, social gathering of people interested in BDSM or kink. It is a good event for newcomers, providing a safe space to learn, socialize and establish a rapport within the kink community. There is no nudity or sex, just fellow kinksters talking (and playing games!) - feel free to dress comfortably. We focus on creating a welcoming environment for everyone!

😨 I’m feeling nervous! I’ve never been to something like this.

Don't hesitate to get in touch with us and let us know! We’ll take steps to introduce you to others and make you more comfortable. Don’t worry, all you’ll find is a bunch of people with similar interests playing games and having fun! If you have any questions about the event, send us a DM!

🍔 Can we bring our own food, drinks, and/or beer?

No, unfortunately. In the past this was allowed, but since the cafe got its liquor license, this is no longer widely the case. However, exceptions can be granted to volunteers or people with dietary restrictions upon request.

⚓ What is “Cruising” and why is it prohibited at our events?

“Cruising” involves either mass messaging attendees or attending events solely with the intent of soliciting casual sex or advertising other events and not seeking meaningful connections. In a BDSM munch, this goes against the respectful, consensual nature. Munches prioritize building connections, fostering community, and open conversations, not pursuing purely sexual encounters.

💨 Is Marijuana/Vaping allowed?

Feel free to step outside to smoke. Smoking indoors is prohibited, so please be considerate of those who may not partake.

🔞 Will I need to be over 21 to attend?

No. You can attend as long as you're over 18. However, for the purchase/consumption of alcoholic beverages, you must present valid photo identification showing you are 21 or older to comply with NY state laws.
