There are those who say that science spoils the mystery of the universe, and that it's somehow cold and less meaningful to believe in the prevailing scientific understanding of the universe in comparison to believing fairy tales.

We emphatically disagree! Seeking greater understanding of how the universe around us works does not take away from our awe, but it adds to it! Knowing how an atom behaves or how our neurons fire empowers us to live in better harmony with the world in very large part because then the information guiding our actions is actually true. That said, even when we possess true facts, it is still all too easy to become jaded and to gradually lose our sensitivity to the beauty around us. We must practice this skill, and return to awe!

Come join us this week to learn more about the Aretéan Aim of Passion, and how seeking greater understanding can add fuel to its fire! We'll also sing together as a community, have some great snacks, listen to inspiring messages, and best of all get to spend time with other people who are trying to be their best selves!

Our doors open at 12:30pm for some light food and socializing, and then our meeting starts promptly at 1pm.

We also have a more casual follow-on meeting after the main meeting. We'll discuss what Aretéanism is and how it is practiced in more technical detail; it's a great way to learn more about our organization and mission!
