Humanist Holiday - Gemera!

Every year, near to the southward equinox, Aretéans gather in their communities to venerate everything we symbolically associate with the classical element of Earth through the holiday of Gemera (pronounced with a hard-G). For Aretéans, the element of Earth represents ideas like stability, building and growing things, forward thinking, and the fourth level of human consciousness: Innovative Ideation. It’s a day about being rooted, finding harmony, and proactively creating a better future for everyone.

We'll be celebrating all day! Feel free to get your Gemera holiday started early with us, or just show up for dinner and convocation in the evening!

In the evening we'll sit down together as a community to share a delicious meal with each other. Great company begets great conversation, and this will be a meal to remember! Our flavor profile for the meal is "earthy and sustainable", so you get extra points if you keep that in mind!

It's traditional for us to wear "hippy" style attire on this day! Get out your tie-dye and your best granola-aesthetic clothing!

It's also traditional for us to salute organizations from the past and present who have inspired us during the meeting. Think ahead about what your favorite organizations are and how they've made the world a better place, and be prepared to share!
