I Want Her: 40+ Sapphic Dating

Join us this summer in Brooklyn for a day of girl on girl love!

Looking for love but not looking to date someone who never got to experience OKCupid when it was actually good & useful? If you find yourself constantly asking, "Where the hell are the queer women over 40?" Come meet your person! Or make friends with others looking for connection.

This event is meant to help us get away from our screens and in person where we can skip the "is there chemistry" question. We'll be outdoors where we can enjoy a beautiful day and beautiful people. There will be ice breaker and games to help everyone loosen up. Instead of formal chairs, we'll be lounging on blankets with yoga chairs, pillows, and stools while engaging in 1-1 conversations. Each blanket will have unique activities to help keep the conversation flowing. The games will allow you to meet almost everyone at the event. The open mingling in the end will help you meet the rest.

Tickets are $20 until the day of the event when they are $30. Are you 39 and want to attend? You are welcome to! Wrist bands will be given to each ticket holder when you check in to identify who is part of the event.

What can you expect?

  1. The day will be broken into parts that each involve questions and games to help get the flow going. You'll be broken into groups of 2 or more at various points and get to engage in connection or love. The intention is to help the entire group get to know one another.
  2. Expect to stay later than 4pm. You're welcome to leave, of course, no one is trapped. But after hosting several dating events, the usual thing that happens are that folks are comfortable, happy, and stay to continue chatting and connecting well past the formal end time.

Dress Code:

  1. We ask that folks dress for a park hang. Think fun picnic.

Who is this event for?

  1. This event is for women, whether cis or trans! Lesbians, Butch, Femme...however you categorize yourself. And those who identify as monogamous.

We'll have some snacks and drinks to share, but feel free to bring some as well!
