Intro to Self Suspension - Shibari Workshop

Discover the art and empowerment of self suspension. Designed for those who are confident in their floor ties and curious about exploring suspension safely, this session covers the fundamentals of self suspension. You'll learn about suspendable self-tie harnesses, upline management, body mechanics, and suspension safety.

PREREQUISITES

***IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an intermediate level class. If you cannot demonstrate competency of the prerequisites and the teacher determines you are not able to participate safely, you may be asked to audit the suspension portion of the class.

  1. Understanding of basic rope safety
  2. Must be able to tie a single column, reverse tension, and half hitch
  3. Intermediate rope handling skills, able to tie with good symmetry and tension

SUPPLIES:

  1. At least six 8m lengths of suspension-grade rope
  2. At least 3 rated carabiners
  3. Optional: Suspension ring
  4. Cutting tool
