Introduction to Tea Leaf Reading

In this workshop, youll learn about the history of tea leaf reading, how the process works, and how to use your intuition to interpret them.

Tea leaf reading is a long used, time-honored method of powerful divination. ☕Join us to dive deep into this craft and leave with the skills to read your own tea leaves!

In this 2-hour class, you can expect to learn:

1. The history of Tasseomancy (tea leaf reading)
2. What the process of reading leaves entails
3. How to use your intuition to spot different symbols
4. How to successfully interpret those symbols.

We will close with an opportunity for you to read your own tea leaves and practice with your peers. Includes a symbology and interpretation cheat sheet you can take home.

Make sure to bring:

1. Pen and paper or a journal
2. Your intuition!

Some helpful tea practices to explore prior to the workshop ☕ (if you have time):

1. Get to know your tea! Practice savoring your tea as a mindfulness practice to help you land in your body, in the present moment.
2. Look at the tea carefully and notice everything you can about its appearance.
3. Smell it and notice all the aromas.
4. Touch the cup to your lips and notice the warmth and texture.
5. As you take the first sip, really taste it — all the flavors — from when it first touches your tongue until after you swallow it.
6. Give yourself a moment to sink into a place of deep appreciation and enjoyment.

We'll be gathering together at Seagrape Apothecary from 5:30 to 7:30. Please arrive a little early to get settled in. Masks are required for this gathering, when not sipping your tea. For the sake of the container we're holding, and to minimize distractions, we'll be locking the doors 10 minutes after class starts. Please keep this in mind while making travel arrangements!

1. Seagrape Apothecary is located at 2823 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, Oregon 97232. Please DO NOT park in the Centaur Guitar parking lot! There's residential parking available just one block away, and a bus stop directly in front of the store for folks taking public transit.
2. Please bring a mask with you! You will be asked to wear your mask throughout class. If you're experiencing any COVID symptoms prior to the gathering, please do not attend the gathering.

Seagrape Apothecary Cancellation Policy:

All tickets are nonrefundable.

If Seagrape Apothecary reschedules a workshop or class and an attendee cannot attend the rescheduled workshop or class, a class credit for the ticket value will be issued and will be valid for 1 year from the date of cancellation.

If Seagrape Apothecary cancels a workshop or class, attendees will get the choice between class credit or a Seagrape Apothecary gift card. If class credit is chosen, a credit for the ticket value will be issued and will be valid for 1 year from the date of cancellation. If the gift card is chosen, a digital gift card worth the ticket value will be shared via email and valid for 1 year from the date of cancellation.

COVID Exceptions: If an attendee tests positive for COVID and reaches out prior to an in-person class to let us know, a class credit for the ticket value will be issued and will be valid for 1 year.
