Kink 101

Starting out in the wild world of kink can seem overwhelming and intimidating. Many people are self-taught and keep their taboo adventures to themselves, navigating the unknown through trial and error. But in this physically and emotionally risky realm - you don't need to do it alone!

This class exists to support you - wherever you may be on your k!nk journey. Whether you're just dipping in your toe or have already taken the plunge and could use some structure - this class will offer helpful tools (like the Kink Sandwich or Flow Framework) we've developed at Pagans Paradise through years of cultivating safer systems.

💡 What We’ll Explore:

🎯 What Is Kink, Really? – Unpack myths, misconceptions, and the wide range of practices that fall under the kink umbrella—from sensation play to power exchange.

💬 Negotiation & Communication – Learn how to express desires, set boundaries, and co-create safe containers for play using clear, honest dialogue.

🧰 Tools & Toys 101 – A tour through basic implements (like impact toys, restraints, and sensation tools), including how to use them safely and creatively.

⚠️ Risk-Awareness & Safety – Understand how to assess risks, care for your nervous system, and protect your physical and emotional well-being before, during, and after play.

🌬️ Attention, Flow & Embodiment – Explore how presence shapes power exchange. Learn how to drop into your body, stay attuned to your partner, and move with the energy of the scene.

🌱 Aftercare & Integration – Discover how to tend to yourself and your partners post-scene, including emotional support, physical care, and reflection practices.

✨ Continuing Your Journey – Find out how to stay connected and deepen your exploration beyond this class. We’ll share resources like online communities, helpful apps, events, pІay parties, and ways to meet others with similar interests.

We are having a 2-part evening of indulgence and learning. Come for the workshop and stay for the Jam to practice what you learned and meet other like-minded folks!

Workshop Format:

1. Discussion and Practical Exercises: The workshop will include a mix of discussions and hands-on exercises. You'll have the chance to interact with others, practice communication techniques, and receive feedback.
2. Solo and Group Work: You can come alone or with a partner. During the exercises, you'll have the opportunity to switch partners, which allows for practicing with familiar partners and new acquaintances. This helps simulate both established dynamics and pickup scene scenarios.
3. Dress Code and Interactions: Feel free to dress however you want, whether vanilla or ready to practice. Expect to interact with others for the exercises, at least in terms of communication and light D/s. More physical practice will be saved for the jam afterwards. We do not pair people up, and encourage guests to make friends and engage to their level of comfort ensuring that all are able to learn and grow. Couples can stay paired the whole time or practice with others if you so choose.
4. This workshop is open to all gender identifications, sexual orientations, lifestyles, singles and couples. All experience levels welcome. 18+.
5. Refunds must be requested 7 days prior to the event.
6. Doors open at 7:30pm and closes at 7:40 pm. Please be on time and text ahead if you are delayed.

Jam After the Workshop:

Stick around for our jam session. This is your chance to put what you’ve learned into action, trying out your new skills on dungeon furniture in a supportive setting. The lights go down, the music goes up, and playtime begins! Nix will be available for feedback, scenes, or additional guidance to solidify the workshop’s learning in a hands-on, playful environment. Participate at your own comfort level - whether that means observing, chatting, or playing with others.
