Knotty Affairs: A Dance of Connection is a rope-inspired dance party that invites you into a fluid, grounded evening of somatic dance, contact improvisation, and Japanese rope-inspired movement. This isn’t about performance or perfection—it’s about presence, exploration, and the subtle dialogue between bodies through tension, flow, and release.

💫 What You’ll Experience:

🌀 Somatic Dance: A movement practice that centers internal sensation, nervous system regulation, and body-led expression. There’s no choreography—just your body’s truth, moment by moment.

🤝 Contact Improvisation: A partnered dance form focused on weight-sharing, trust, and shared momentum. It’s a curious, spontaneous exploration of balance, resistance, and flow.

🪢 Guided Rope Dance: This 3-hour facilitated journey combines elements of somatic dance, contact improv, and rope-based touch and connection. You'll explore how rope can be used to initiate motion, deepen sensation, and build nonverbal conversation between partners. The session includes invitations to solo and partnered movement, breathwork, and moments of stillness to help you drop deeper into your body. No rope experience is required—just a willingness to explore connection.

🎶 Soundscape by Eden: Eden will guide the evening with an evolving soundscape—inviting waves of stillness, tension, and release through curated music and intuitive DJing.

✨ Your Hosts:

🔥 Rorpheus – A rope educator, and movement facilitator with 15 years of martial arts and 10 years of rope experience. Rorpheus brings curious depth, grounded intensity, and somatic awareness to every container they co-create.

🌿 Eden – A trauma-informed somatic facilitator, yoga teacher, breathwork instructor, and blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Eden weaves music, movement, and intuitive ritual into embodied, connective experiences.

🔥 After Hours (12–3 AM)

After our guided journey, stay for After Hours Flow—an open, softly held space for deeper connection. Bring rope, intention, and curiosity. Whether you’re moved to keep dancing, exploring rope, or simply resting in presence, this portion of the night invites you to follow where your body and connection want to go.

Dance Only (9–12): Tier 1: $35 | Tier 2: $45

Dance + After Hours: Tier 1: $60 | Tier 2: $80
