Conquer the challenges to living a vibrant, full life in a fat body and get equipped to create that life in this affirming virtual workshop
Life in a fat body feels like a neverending waiting game, doesn’t it? If you’ve ever put your life on hold until that magical day when you feel at home in your own skin, it’s time to break those chains and stride boldly out to claim the active, joyful, fulfilling existence you deserve!
Real talk: The world doesn’t feel welcoming to us fat folks most of the time. We wait around, hesitant to take up space (literally or figuratively!) and waiting for invitations to the great party of life that simply never come. Guess what– you need to crash that party and claim that space for yourself. Not sure how? You’ve come to the right place.
Body image educator/coach and fat liberationist Rebecca Rose Vassy throws open the doors of this virtual workshop and welcomes you in with her signature blend of soapbox rants, practical action, radical compassion, and over-the-top ridiculousness. She’s created a colorful, adventurous life AND style that boldly, unapologetically cherishes her right to exist as a fat queer femme. Now, she shares the recipe for her joie de vivre and helps you whip up a signature mocktail that includes:
Bonus: You’ll get extensive resources for fat representation, body-affirming books, social spaces that center or at least welcome fat folks, tools for your own activism, and more!
This workshop is inclusive of all. Non-fat folks looking to get better educated are welcome, but we ask you to listen and observe as a way of holding space to center fat folks’ experiences. It’s aimed at a general audience but is useful to clinicians looking to do continuing education around fatness, fat liberation, and body affirmation for their fat clients. There will be time for Q&A and discussion at the end of the presentation, with a method for submitting anonymous questions. Stop waiting for your “real life” to begin and start living your best life just as you are right now!
