**We all need touch.
**We all need affection.
**We all need nurturing.
**We all need community.
**It’s part of being human!
**It’s no longer a question.
Nurturing, welcome consensual touch is good for you!
Infants who are deprived of touch fail to thrive; and we never outgrow that need!
We humans all need platonic touch, that is safe, consensual and healing.
Now, if you are a human being reading this, chances are you have a desire to have your touch needs met. In fact, 27% of those surveyed regarding their ‘love language’ report physical touch as being their primary love language; while 24% report it as being a secondary love language; and 25% report physical touch as being their tertiary love language. That’s 76% of the population surveyed saying that physical touch is somewhere in the upper spectrum of their human needs!
Touch can come in many forms. From simply holding hands, to being held, to giving a hug, to receiving a hug, to receiving a massage, to giving a massage. Touch in it’s many forms has been proven scientifically to provide many benefits, including the need for connection, and non-sexual intimacy.
TOUCH IS A BASIC HUMAN NEED!
We are excited to offer you a chance to come to an event that is all about having your needs for connection, community and physical touch met.
We will start the evening out with some ‘authentic relating’ games to garner connection and community, then move into some physical connection games such as the practice of Latihan, some dance and movement meditation to get us into our bodies and comfortable with others in the space. Then we will offer a number of physical connection games to be played in dyads, triads, and moresomes! You'll have fun, meet new people, get connected and have your touch needs met in ways you’ve never imagined possible!
The feeling we aim to create for this event is one of relaxation and fun!
So come, relax, enjoy yourself, take a load off and be in the energy of people just like you, people who desire connection and community and would like to be nurtured, held, and touched, by people just like you!
We will honor each other's boundaries and practice verbal consent before we touch anyone, and everyone will have the opportunity to bow out of any exercise or activity that doesn’t feel right for them. We will lovingly and compassionately respect each other's YES or NO. We will not make each other wrong for having desires or asking for what we want. We will respect each other for their willingness to try new things and won’t pass judgment on those who chose themselves or on those who change their mind.
If you are a compassionate and empathetic being who has good communication and boundary skills, who plays well with others, and desires community, connection and touch as much as the rest of us, then we would like to invite you to come play with us!
ABOUT LATIHAN
Latihan is a movement based practice similar to Tai Chi or Qigong that can be done standing, sitting, or lying down and often combines all three in one session! Also considered to be a form of prayer or meditation, Latihan is practiced in super slow motion and similar to contact improv, only it’s done blindfolded!
The word "latihan" means "exercise" or "training" in Indonesian. During Latihan, participants aim to connect with the divine through physical and spiritual surrender. The practice is not tied to any specific religious doctrine or spiritual belief system, and as such participants are encouraged to interpret their experiences in their own way.
Latihan is often described as a spontaneous process that arises from within the practitioner. During the practice, the person opens themselves up to a higher power, and allows themselves to be guided by that power. This can manifest in physical movements, emotional releases, or other experiences that are unique to the individual.
Many participants report that Latihan is a transformative experience that can lead to spiritual growth and personal development. Practitioners also tend to agree that practice can help to bring about positive changes in the world!

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR:
~ Shiva J is a Somatic Bodyworker, Tantra Teacher, Kundalini Yoga Instructor, Certified Life Coach, Licensed Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Master NLP Practitioner who has been in the world of transformational work since 2003.
With a 20+ year career in the fitness world under his belt he suddenly found himself with a severe back injury that prevented him from continuing on that path. Around the same time he found himself facing divorce, bankruptcy and homelessness. Determined to rise from these pitfalls he began to study holistic wellness, and Tantra to help heal his body, mind and spirit. Having prevailed over a rather bleak and almost hopeless dark night of the soul he experienced a spiritual awakening and discovered his true calling as a healer, and community builder.
With his unique perspective of the mind, body, spirit connection he has helped thousands of clients transform their lives. He combines all of these unique tools along with his gift of insight to help his clients overcome any physical or mental challenge they may be currently experiencing in their lives.
When not at work doing what he loves, Shiva J can be found at a local internet cafe sipping a dirty chai latte, attending ecstatic dancing, a drum circle, or out hiking or biking local trails and if you can't find him at all, he has probably taken a sabbatical and gone hiking or camping someplace more exotic!
Shiva J is available for private sessions, workshops and retreats.
