Misfits in Motion is a relational movement lab exploring connection, consent, and embodied ways of relating. Each gathering offers a welcoming space to move, listen, and play with others while staying rooted in choice and body agency. This is a welcome space for queer, femme, and trans folx, and anyone who believes in centering body agency, consent, and choice.
This month, our movement lab will be informed by the practice of Contact Improvisation, guided by Marie Osterman, inviting us to explore attunement, mutuality, and ease through shared movement.
What is Contact Improvisation?
Contact Improvisation is a movement practice rooted in touch, weight-sharing, and listening through the body. It offers powerful lessons for polyamorous and open-hearted communities: how to stay attuned with multiple partners, communicate without words, navigate shifting dynamics, and meet both closeness and distance with grace.
Thereโs no choreography and no dance experience needed...just your curiosity!
