What if relating could feel more like a dance?
Join us for a special Fall Eastside Contact Improvisation (CI) workshop + jam designed for beginners and seasoned movers alike to connect, play, and discover new ways of relating through movement. This is a welcoming space for queer, femme, and trans folx - and for those exploring love and connection beyond traditional structures. CI centers body agency, consent, and choice, offering an embodied way to practice the art of relationship.
What is Contact Improvisation?
Contact Improvisation is a movement practice rooted in touch, weight-sharing, and listening through the body. It offers powerful lessons for polyamorous and open-hearted communities: how to stay attuned with multiple partners, communicate without words, navigate shifting dynamics, and meet both closeness and distance with grace.
Thereβs no choreography and no dance experience needed...just your curiosity!
CI mirrors the relational skills we cultivate in expansive love and community, such as:
