Let's come together to make our community space even more welcoming. Members, Volunteers, esteemed Allies, endowed Crew and newcomers WELCOME! Long time member? Haven't seen the space or met many of the members? Only have an hour? Feel free to come for the entire event or just drop by for a bit. No specific skills are required – just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to contribute.

Volunteering is a great way to meet people, and feel involved in the community! This is an open house event, and no PAL is required. However, it's a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and potentially find a PAL if you are new to the community. So whether you want to scrub and shimmy, showcase your strength by hauling things around, or offer creative decor suggestions, your presence is valued.

Come prepared to connect with fellow community members, make new friends, and collectively clean up to make a more lovely environment for the year ahead.

What to expect?

• Organizing and tidying up communal areas
• Garden maintenance and beautification (if weather permits)
• Basic cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping
• Cleaning and refreshing furniture
• Decorating and improving the overall ambiance

Community Contributions: We welcome more cleaning supplies! While we have a limited number of cleaning tools, feel free to bring additional supplies such as scrub brushes, cleaning spray, rags, dusters, upholstery steamer/cleaner and more. Your contributions will help make our community care efforts even more effective.

Potluck Sharing: While we'll be providing some food, we encourage you to bring more to share, especially if you have specific dietary restrictions. Let's create a diverse and delicious spread that caters to everyone's tastes. Your thoughtful contributions will add to the warmth of our gathering.

🛠️ Big News & Volunteer Day Focus

Big news for Mission Control... if you don't already know... we officially bought the building! 🎉

Now that the space is truly ours, we’re starting some exciting improvements to make it more accessible, welcoming, and functional for the community.

The first projects on the list include:

• Adding an ADA bathroom in the Red Room (the room with the bar) to improve accessibility in the space.
• Opening up the office area by demoing part of it to expand what we call “The Hallway” — the area where the couches line the wall.
• This change will create more social space and better visibility to the gazebo, which will help during events like Peek and other gatherings.

At the last Volunteer Day we made huge progress moving furniture, clearing storage, and prepping the areas for construction — thank you to everyone who helped! 💜

This Volunteer Day we’ll continue that momentum by finishing some of the organizing and clearing work needed before demo and building can begin.

For those who aren't interested in those projects don't worry we still have more tasks!

Let's not only spruce up our space but also share in the joy of community and collaboration. Whether you're contributing cleaning supplies or bringing a dish to share, your participation is vital. We look forward to spending time together and making our shared space even more special. See you there!
