When the Community Is Also the Dating Pool

If you organize in polyamory, kink, tantra, queer, or sex-positive spaces, you already know something unique about these communities.

The people who attend our events are not just participants. They are also our friends, collaborators, lovers, partners, and potential partners.

Attraction happens. Chemistry happens. Connection happens.

The real question is not whether attraction exists.

The real question is:

How do we navigate attraction with integrity while protecting the safety and trust of our communities?

In this Organizer’s Support Circle, we will explore the unique leadership dynamics that arise when the community we steward is also part of our personal social and dating world.

Together we will explore:

• The difference between typical leadership roles and leadership in sex-positive spaces • How power dynamics can show up between organizers and attendees • Healthy boundaries that support both personal autonomy and community trust • Ways to navigate attraction ethically and transparently • What to do when relationships inside our communities become complicated

You will connect in a small breakout with 1 to 2 other organizers to reflect on your own experiences, then return to a shared wisdom circle where we exchange insight, strategies, and support.

This conversation is not about shame or judgment.

It is about leadership, responsibility, and care for the communities we love.

💬 This Circle Is For You If…

• You organize polyamory, ENM, kink, tantra, queer, or sex-positive gatherings • You have ever felt attraction toward someone in your community and wondered how to handle it ethically • You want to lead with clarity and integrity in spaces where personal and community dynamics overlap • You value community trust and want to protect the culture you are helping build • You would appreciate hearing how other organizers navigate these waters

Whether you have been organizing for years or are newer to holding space, you are welcome.

👜 What to Bring

• Something to write with and on (notebook, doc, or journal) • A quiet-ish space where you can reflect and share • Curiosity about your own leadership practices • Your honest experiences. No need to have it all figured out.

💜 What This Space Is

This Organizer’s Support Circle is a peer space for connection, reflection, and shared learning among people who steward communities.

Many of us hold a lot behind the scenes.

This space exists so organizers can talk openly about the realities of leading sex-positive communities while also being human inside them.

You do not have to navigate these questions alone.
