Non-Monogamy Discussion Group Vancouver -December 2025

Welcome to the Non-Monogamy Discussion Group Vancouver! We will be meeting the THIRD Monday of the month at Cross and Crows Books . Bring your ideas, questions and opinions!

December Topic: Finding the Right Words - Labels & Language in Non-monogamy.

How do the words we use shape the way we love and connect?

Terms like partner, metamour, primary, solo poly, or kitchen table polyamory can help us describe our relationships and find community. But sometimes, those same words can feel like they don’t quite fit the experience or that they mean different things to different people.

This month, we’ll explore how language shapes our experiences of non-monogamy:

-How do you decide which labels feel right for you? Do you like labels?

-What happens when you and someone else use the same word but mean something totally different?

-How do you talk about your relationships when none of the usual labels feel quite right?

-Are you comfortable with labels changing over time?

We’ll dive into how comfortable we are with shifting or redefining labels, how we check in about what words mean to each of us, and what happens when our experiences don’t line up neatly with the language we have for them.
