Welcome to the Non-Monogamy Discussion Group Vancouver! We will be meeting the THIRD Monday of the month at Cross and Crows Books . Bring your ideas, questions and opinions!
Topic: Moving at Different Speeds - Honoring the Pace of Connection
In non-monogamous relationships, it’s common for different connections to unfold at varying speeds. One relationship might feel like a slow burn, while another ignites quickly. Sometimes we're eager to move forward while a partner needs to take things slow or we're adjusting to the pace of our partner's relationships with our metamours.
This month, we’re exploring the rhythms and pacing of relationships: How do we honor the natural tempo of a connection without rushing or holding back? What happens when relationships feel out of sync or when the speed of one dynamic brings up feelings about another? How do we navigate comparison, jealousy, or fear of being left behind when things progress unevenly?
We’ll also discuss the pressure to "keep up," the desire for things to feel fair or equal, and how to stay grounded in our own values and needs. What does it look like to trust the timing of each relationship even when it's uncomfortable? How do we communicate around pacing with care, curiosity, and compassion?
Bring your stories, challenges, and insights as we reflect on what it means to move at your own pace and to make room for relationships to develop in their own time.
