In this workshop, we look at the overlap between autism and kink.

1. What is autism, and what's the right language to use?
2. Why might an autistic person be attracted to a kinky environment?
3. Can BDSM be used as a form of sensory regulation?
4. What’s the difference between neurotypical and autistic communication?
5. What would be useful to know if you’re playing with a neurodivergent person?
6. And how can you negotiate a scene with someone who doesn’t know where masking ends and they begin?

This workshop isn't just for autistic folk, it can help anyone who feels like an outsider or would like to create a more inclusive environment.

PRESENTER:

Experienced BDSM educator and comedian John Pendal joins us all the way from London, England.

In 2003, John became the 25th person (and only Brit) to win the annual International Mr Leather contest in Chicago. Since then, he has traveled worldwide teaching SM education, giving speeches, acting as a master of ceremonies, or doing stand-up comedy.

He has taught workshops at Down and Dirty (Melbourne), Inferno, Lupercalia (Edmonton), Minnesota Leather Pride, Mr. Leatherman Toronto, Palm Springs Leather Pride, Rome BDSM Conference (Italy), SINSations in Leather, Spring in the South (Atlanta), Tribal Fire (Oklahoma), and Thunder in the Mountains (Denver).

We offer a sliding scale, so cost is not a barrier to attendance. The regular ticket is $30. This is what most people should pay.

The $20 ticket is offered for those for whom the $30 ticket would be a barrier to participation. Have a great salary? Feeling generous? Paying at the $40 level allows us to make the discounted tickets available to others who need it.
