A Table for All: Potluck Community Dinner at Stopgap

Gather with community and chosen family.

For some, this day is wrapped in tradition. For others, it carries a more complicated history. While much of the U.S. celebrates Thanksgiving, we hold space for the reality of that history and choose to center care, connection, and chosen family.

In a world that often feels heavy, gathering together to share food and warmth is an act of quiet resistance. We come together to build community, to nurture one another, and to create the kind of world we want to live in, even if just for an evening.

Doors will open at 3:00 PM. Dinner will be served at 5:00 PM. Dessert will follow at 8:00 PM.

This is not a play event. It is a time to share food, stories, laughter, and the comfort of good company.

What Stopgap Will Provide:

Stopgap will provide roast turkey, plates, forks, spoons, knives, and a welcoming space for us to gather.

What We Ask You to Bring:

Attendees are asked to sign up to bring a side, appetizer, or dessert using this form: Stopgap Potluck Signup

Your contribution can be something traditional or something from your own personal traditions. A potluck is an act of care. Each dish tells a story and adds richness to the evening. Whether your dish is homemade, store-bought, or a family recipe, it matters. Every offering helps build the table we share. Please also write out an index card with the ingredients so people with allergies can stay informed.

No one will be turned away if they are unable to bring a dish.

After Dinner:

People are welcome to stay, linger, and connect after dessert. You can bring board games, music, crafts, or simply your presence. Again, this is not a play party. This is a night for community.

Come hungry. Come as you are. Come help fill the night with community.
