Join us for Rope Bottoming 101, where we offer a grounded, realistic overview of what you can expect as you begin your rope bottoming journey: From attending your first event to navigating your first scene with confidence. We'll cover where to find community(s), how to vet potential riggers, and what healthy & effective negotiation looks like.

Together, we’ll explore negotiation tools, emotional check-ins, and strategies for staying aware and connected during a tie. We’ll discuss different styles of rope bottoming, what it means to understand your body, and how to communicate your needs clearly. We’ll also cover how to prepare for and navigate the moments when (not if) things go wrong.

The workshop includes a 90-minute lecture, followed by an open Q&A session.

About the Instructors

Mooooo (any pronouns) is a rope switch with over six years of experience bottoming in Shibari. To them, rope is a form of intimate communication: A language that speaks both physically and emotionally. Rope bottoming offers a space for creativity, surrender, and self-discovery, built on the trust between Rigger and bottom. It allows them to feel, react, and connect deeply, creating moments of vulnerability, curiosity, and mutual discovery that go far beyond the physical tie. Find them on Fetlife and Instagram.

Littleluv (she/they) is a non-binary rope switch who has been practicing Shibari for 4 years. Their love of kinbaku is fueled by the seductive and addictive qualities of semenawa. Their technical focus, on both sides of the slash, is centered around somatics, surrender, and physical challenges. Photography is also a significant part of their practice. Capturing beautiful shapes, expressions, and emotions feeds their inner perv and is one of their favorite ways to enrich rope relationships. Find them on Fetlife and Instagram.
