The Art of the Spit Shine w/ Echo Lynx

Dirty boots, saddle soap, cotton shirt, Lincoln tin, shine brush, then tongue. What’s sexier than the person caring for your boots, than them doing it with their tongue? This session takes bootblacking a few boot-prints further than just the basic how-to’s. In this two part session, we will both discuss and experience. In the discussion portion be prepared for conversation topics such as why people lick boots, a history of leathercare in kink communities, culture and race relating to D/s bootblacking, and even safety facets for the licker. The hands-on portion of this session starts with a brief demo then invites participants to practice. Participants should have a basic knowledge of boot or leather care, come prepared with their own materials -including their leather. Participants can engage in this session solo or partnered and this session can be taught online or in-person. [This session is highly recommended for 120 minutes to encompass deep conversation as well as demo and practice; this session cannot be held at less than 90 minutes].

About the Instructor

Echolynx, or just Echo (they/them or hen/hun) is a longtime kinkster with a passion for the abolishment of injustices faced by marginalised kinksters in overlapping communities. They are an organizer and an educator by nature and a lynx in practice; small, curious, and independent. Echo identifies as Arab, agender, queer, an immigrant, disabled, and submissive. A rigger for more than a decade, Echo is most passionate about connection, sadism, and disability inclusion in rope. Echo is the founder and Producer of the Kink Between the Lines Conference; using their passion for social equity, racial and disability justice, and intentional intersectionality to help lift up and prioritise minority and marginalised voices in kink. In their free time, they enjoy leather care, playing solo, crafting, and language learning. Fluent or close to, in English and Dutch; they also understand Hebrew and ASL, and are actively learning Arabic and NGT.
