We regularly express our values in our everyday lives, whether we’re fully conscious of them or not. Boundaries (our preferences and limits) and protocols (special rules for power exchange) can start with good intentions. But what we don’t know - or don’t examine - about our guiding principles can hamper self-awareness, hamstring intentional relationships, and sabotage play or ongoing dynamics.
In this workshop, we’ll compare beliefs vs. values and needs vs. wants, as well as how to communicate them. You’ll identify some of your own core values, and consider how they can inform personal boundaries, impact interpersonal rules, and shape formalized protocols. We’ll explore strategies to implement practices that incorporate your values into your relationships and dynamics.
This is an interactive discussion with participatory exercises, and you will be invited to share your thoughts and experiences to your level of comfort. Suitable for all levels of experience and all relationship styles or status.
