Calling soft queers, word nerds, and bookish babes! Queer Bedtime Stories is a community live-reading event for all LGBTQ+ adults in the Bay

What bedtime stories were you told as a kid? How many of them were queer? Did you grow up wondering if there were others like you? Were you confused about what kind of life you could lead, or what was even possible for someone like you? When all the stories you hear are about straight protagonists, it's hard to know where you fit into the world. Let's fix this together, mkay?

This is the bedtime stories reboot you've dreamed of: all the stories are queer! Queer Bedtime Stories (QBS) is an opportunity to re-seed the fertile ground of your imagination with poetry, memoirs, and history from our people: LGBTQ+ ancestors and creators alive today. Together, let's uncover the richness of our shared history and, if we're lucky, catch a glimpse of the blossoming future.

Doors open at 7:30pm, and the event starts at 8pm.

You can come just to listen or bring a reading to share! Readings should be 1-10 minutes long, be any genre, and either be written by an LGBTQ+ author or be about queerness in some way. Original work is more than welcome!

If you haven't been to Milk-SF, you will be wowed by the amount of queer icons and art on the walls! The vibes are truly immaculate and add so much to this community gathering. Don't forget to grab a hot beverage from the barista to make this event exceptionally cozy for yourself!

Attendance is free, but donations are encouraged to keep it sustainable.

Queer Bedtime Stories was created in 2020 by Scott Sessions, a spiritual life coach and facilitator of transformative events. Scott hosts at least two community QBS events each month, and offers an elevated version for LGBTQ+ associations (non-profit/corporate employee resource groups, professional associations, college pride clubs, etc).
