🎶 The Music

July's DJ, Charles Hawthorne, curates a dynamic set that centers BIPOC and queer voices across genres -– encouraging a deep exploration of movement.

At RECLAIM, the music takes you on a journey of expression and connection. We start slow, giving you time to warm up your body and settle into the space. As the rhythm builds, the energy rises, and you'll feel your blood pumping as genres shift and new movements emerge. We end slow again, so we can settle our bodies and soak in all that we created together.

New? About Our Container

New Dancers

Before you arrive, please take a moment to sign our group agreements and liability waiver. Doing this ahead of time means a quicker check-in, so you can get straight to the good vibes.

*Identity

RECLAIM is about creating a vibrant space where bipoc and queer folks can come together, connect, and vibe as one community. Our goal? To build bridges and unite, so we can dance our way into the future we’ve been dreaming of.

We’re calling all BIPOC folks—whether you’re Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color—to join us on the dance floor. And we’re calling all QUEER folks—gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, questioning, gender-nonconforming, or however you proudly define your queerness.

To be clear: if you’re white and queer, come on down! If you’re brown and straight, we want you too! The only thing we ask is that you bring your best self and be ready to groove.

Dress Code

We encourage you to dress as fabulous, comfy, expressive, or as plain as you’d like for the dance. We ask that the dance floor remain shoe-free; however, soft dance shoes are welcome if needed. Please note that we are an all-ages event and require chests to be covered for all bodies, whether you identify as a woman, man, non-binary, trans, or other.

Keep Us Healthy

If you are feeling sick, please do not come! We’ll see you at the next event.

Accessibility

The venue is ADA accessible, with seating available in the dance rooms and a quiet space for sensory breaks. The event will feature amplified sound and natural light. If you need assistance or have specific accessibility needs, please contact us at reclaimdance@gmail.com.

All Ages

RECLAIM is an all-ages event, but we ask that all people under 16 years old be supervised by an adult at all times.

Our Vision

RECLAIM envisions a world where bipoc and queer people are moving towards liberation together. We center the Black, the Brown, and Queer because now, more than ever, we need fresh visions to create a thriving world for all—regardless of who we love, how we identify, or the melanin in our skin.

Our mission is to unite BIPOC and Queer dancers through communal movement, self-expression, and meaningful exchange. By dancing together, we empower ourselves to build deeper connections, find courage, and co-create a more just and compassionate world.

RECLAIM stands in solidarity with Black, Brown, Queer, Indigenous, Palestinian, Congolese, Sudanese and all people resisting oppressive systems.
