Erectile dysfunction (ED) is often treated like a personal failure—when it’s usually a whole-body message. Blood flow, nerve health, hormones, medication side effects, stress physiology, sleep quality, and relationship pressure can all impact erections. This class offers a grounded, shame-free roadmap for understanding erectile changes and choosing support strategies that match your needs and values.
We’ll cover:
- Hormonal contributors (testosterone shifts, thyroid concerns, prolactin, cortisol/stress, and age-related changes)
- Lifestyle factors that strongly influence erections (cardiovascular health, diabetes, sleep apnea, alcohol, nicotine, movement, stress load)
- Non-hormonal medications (PDE5 inhibitors, other prescription options, and common med interactions)
- Hormonal medications (when testosterone therapy is considered, pros/cons, labs to ask about, and safety notes)
- Other therapies (pelvic floor support, vacuum devices, injections/suppositories, implants, counseling/sex therapy, and nervous-system regulation tools)
- Communication skills to reduce pressure, renegotiate intimacy, and ask for support from lovers and friends without oversharing
This is educational content—not medical diagnosis—and you’ll be encouraged to collaborate with a qualified clinician for individualized care.
SMART Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify at least 5 common contributing factors to erectile changes (e.g., blood flow, stress load, sleep, hormones, medication side effects) and match each factor to one practical next step (self-care, clinical question, or referral).
- Compare at least 4 ED support pathways (lifestyle interventions, non-hormonal meds, hormonal therapy, and other therapies/devices) and choose a personalized “start-here” plan using a provided decision guide.
- Demonstrate (via role-play prompts or written scripts) two communication strategies for discussing erectile changes with a lover that reduce pressure and increase collaboration.
