Romance After Roe: An Abortion Positivity Panel

Join us on March 16th at 7pm for a panel event featuring romance authors, Elissa Sussman and Marisa Kanter, in conversation with Sophie Nir, Founder and CEO of The Abortion Positivity Project. Moderated by Jessamyn Fitzpatrick, this will be a conversation about Romance as an agent of narrative change and how Romance authors are meeting the moment of a post-Roe reality in their narratives.

Abortion Positivity Project works to destigmatize abortion and shift the public narrative around abortion away from one controlled by the anti-abortion extremist minority. By unlearning the detrimental language and framework that contributed to the worst abortion access climate in 5 decades, we're creating a world free of abortion stigma, where abortion is accessible to all in a safe and supportive environment.

Abortion Positivity is a strategic framework for understanding abortion without any stigma or judgment. Abortion Positivity centers on appreciation for the positive impact of abortion and recognizes abortion as a social good. The goal of abortion positivity is to strip stigma from the public narrative and societal conversation around abortion. It is NOT about judging individuals' emotions about their personal experiences with abortion or policing private conversations with trusted care providers. Follow them @abortionpositivity.
