Rope Bottoms Corner

VoxBody is pleased to host another Rope Bottoms Corner on June 10!

Bottoms, riggers, switches and self-tiers, join us for these quarterly rope bottoming-focused events!

Each event will begin with a speaker-led topic by one of our amazing local rope bottoms. Topics will vary with each event and will be announced ahead of time. The second half of the event will be facilitated open discussion.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend, no experience necessary. Please keep in mind this is bottoms-centered content, and discussions will aim to explore rope from the perspective of the rope bottom.

We welcome RQue on June 10 for a discussion on Emotional Safety in Rope:

In our journey of becoming confident and safe(r) rope bottoms, many of us focus primarily on our physical safety — rope placement, nerve symptoms vs loss of circulation, muscle pain and joint strain, where our physical limits are, etc.

But as bottoms do we also spend as much time thinking and talking about what makes us feel emotionally safe in rope?

I wanted to offer this workshop because I have learned the hard way: feeling emotionally safe is key to centering myself and feeling present and seen in rope.

This workshop will explore what makes us feel safe in rope beyond the physical — how do we find language that centers us and how do we advocate to get what we need, from rope, from ourselves and from our partners? And how do we handle a rupture in trust?

Please bring something to write on and with. The format will be presentation, self-reflection, journaling, and optional small and large group discussion. The goal is to create a safe(r) space for folks to participate as much as they are comfortable with.

Disclaimer: please join us with the intention to participate in this discussion on emotional/personal topics to the extent of your bandwidth. Attendees are encouraged to take care of themselves by stepping away as needed, utilizing the quiet corner, and by opting to participate and/or observe.

The second half of the event will be a facilitated open discussion; this is your chance to share your burning bottoming questions for group discussion!
