Rope Foundations: Shibari 101 Workshop

Join us for an intimate, hands-on introduction to the art of shibari – the practice of rope bondage that blends technique, connection, and trust. This beginner-friendly workshop will guide you through both the how and the why of rope play, grounding sensual creativity in safety and communication.

Your instructors will cover:

- Rope safety essentials – circulation loss vs. nerve compression

- Risk awareness and risk profiles

- Rope anatomy and management

- Counter tensions

- Leg and arm binder using counter tensions only

- Locking counter tensions

- Chest harness

You’ll leave with foundational techniques, a clearer sense of risk management, and the confidence to start building your own rope scenes with care and intention.

Whether you’re brand new to shibari or looking to strengthen your fundamentals, this class is about learning the art of tying – and being tied – with mindfulness, consent, and curiosity.

Capacity will be limited to ensure safety and comfort – so if you’re feeling inspired, we recommend reserving your spot early!

Dress Code:

Think comfortable, movement-friendly, and body-safe. You’ll be tying, being tied, and sitting on the floor, so we recommend:

- Soft, flexible clothing you can move and breathe in

- Lingerie, sports bras, tank tops, crop tops, fitted tees

- Leggings, yoga pants, shorts, or anything without bulky pockets/zippers

- Avoid: belts, metal hardware, jeans, anything that snags or digs into skin

- Optional: bring a layer you can remove if you run warm — rope work can get physical

Nudity is not part of this workshop — all tying is done over clothing.

🔥 Take It Further – Entwined: Shibari Beginner-Intermediate Workshop & Play Party

Ready to put your new skills to work? Two nights later, on Friday, November 14th, we’re hosting Entwined: Shibari Beginner-Intermediate Workshop & Play Party – a follow-up event designed to help you deepen your practice and explore your rope play in a social, sensual environment.

We’ll build on the foundations covered in Shibari 101 with more advanced ties, partnered practice, and opportunities to connect, learn, and play. Whether you’re looking to refine your technique or bring your rope into the bedroom (or dungeon), this is your chance to experience shibari in a more immersive and intimate setting.
