Healing Music in Fairfax! Sanctuary of the Waters

On Thursday, June 5th, you are invited to THE LAST (for now, taking a summer break) “daniel & friends,” an attuned movement space featuring live piano held at Fairfax Community Church!

SPECIAL GUEST: Fresh from Kauai, bringing horn, voice and assorted musical blessings, the magical multi-instrumentalist Lady Kiah! (Daniel and Kiah together form Sanctuary of the Waters, an improvisational musical healing project)

In recognition of the need for gentler nourishing movement spaces, participants are invited to stretch, dance, cuddle, contact improv, meditate, journal, and simply be themselves in a nonverbal space, set to live music.

Open floor for movement! Feel free to bring a yoga mat and/or cozy nest if you’d like to create a relaxing space for yourself on the sides of the room.

Schedule:

6:45pm - Arrivals begin

7:00 - 7:30pm - Opening words, guided musical meditation & intro

7:30 - 9pm - Music by Kiah and Daniel

9pm - Closing

Sliding scale $20-40, please pay at the door in cash or Venmo @DanLD with the show's date in the payment note.

ABOUT THE MUSICIANS:

Sanctuary of the Waters is a musical duo based out of Kaua’i, Hawaii. Lady Kiah and Daniel Labov Dunne hold uniquely similar backgrounds in classical music, held within a passion for improvisation. Their musicality combines with a shared sense of heartfelt prayer to evoke a space of meditative relaxation, rejuvenation and inspiration.
