Ok everyone!!! SBNMS Schoolyard Games are back!!!
Get ready for some classic outdoor fun! Come join our next Family Fun Day on Sunday, August 17th! Since it's my birthday month, I'm excited to sprinkle in some of these extra special events, and this one is designed for all ages, offering a relaxed and playful atmosphere for our community members and their loved ones to connect.
We're heading to Machado Park in Santa Clara, for an afternoon of nostalgic games and delicious food. It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the beautiful South Bay weather, make new friends, and build community bonds in a truly inclusive setting.
there's absolutely no requirement to participate in the games. If you just want to come, hang out on a blanket, enjoy the food, and chat with the community – that's 100% welcome! My main goal is to simply hang out at the park with you all. The games are just things I'd love to do if we have enough people interested and willing to jump in.
Looking forward to a super relaxed and fun day with everyone
Our Game Plan for the Day:
Here's a roadmap for our fun-filled afternoon, based on what's worked well at previous events like this. While this itinerary is specific, I'm completely open to adjusting it based on the flow and everyone's energy! It's more about having a guide than a strict schedule, and if we have enough people for multiple games to go on at the same time, I'm all for it!
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Arrival & Potluck Picnic!
Come on in! This hour and a half is dedicated to arriving, finding a spot, and diving into our potluck. Please bring your favorite dish, snack, or beverages to share! It's a great time to mingle, grab a bite, and ease into the afternoon.
2:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Kickball Kick-Off!
Time to dust off those sneakers! We'll organize into a couple of teams and get some friendly kickball games going. We'll aim for a few rounds, giving everyone a chance to play and run the bases.
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Ninja & More!
Next up, we'll shift gears to Ninja! This is a fun, active game where players strike poses and try to "chop" opponents' hands. If the basketball court is available and not in full use, we might also get in some rounds of Four Square—that classic playground game. Even if the court is occupied, we'll have plenty of space for other activities.
Feel free to bring any other games, sports equipment, or activities you'd like to share with the group! This is our community's day to play together.
This is a wonderful chance to see our community in a different light, with kids (of all ages!) welcome to join the fun.
