Second Glances at Humans vs Zombies nerf battle

Join Second Glances for a Poly Community Humans vs Zombies Nerf battle—foam blasters, name tags, and playful zombie mayhem at SFSU!

FREE EVENT — RSVP & WAIVER REQUIRED

Ready to sprint, strategize, and maybe get “bitten” by the zombie horde? Join Second Glances for a Humans vs Zombies Nerf battle on the SFSU campus! We’re piggy‑backing on the long‑running HvZ:SF game—think giant outdoor tag with foam blasters and swords—and adding a poly twist: name‑tags so you can spot fellow non‑monogamous adventurers in the crowd.

Quick Details

When: Saturday, May 10 | 1 PM (games usually last a few hours—leave whenever you need)

Where: Meet on the upper deck outside the Fine Arts building, SFSU (map link).

Cost: Free!

Who’s Invited: Poly, ENM, & poly‑curious folks of all genders/orientations—especially anyone seeking anchor‑style connections, but friends & partners welcome too.

What to Bring:

  1. A Nerf/foam blaster or melee sword (mandatory—loaners are limited and not guaranteed).
  2. Eye protection (optional).
  3. Water, comfy shoes, and your playful spirit.

Must‑Do Before Game Day

  1. Read the short rules & safety guidelines at hvzsf.com (you’ll learn how stunning zombies works, safe distances, etc.).
  2. Sign the online waiver on the “Game Day” page.
  3. (Optional) Join the HvZ Discord for extra tips and pre‑game chat.

How the Day Flows

  1. A few volunteers start as zombies; everyone else is human.
  2. Zombies “feed” by tagging humans; tagged humans flip to the zombie team.
  3. Humans survive by stunning zombies with their foam arsenal.
  4. The horde grows until (almost) everyone’s undead—cue dramatic final stand!

Second Glances Touch

  1. Look for our clearly labeled name‑tag station to grab a sticker that signals “Poly Community.” Great ice‑breaker.
  2. We’ll have a handful of spare blasters/swords—first come, first served. Don’t bank on it; better to bring your own.
  3. No structured matchmaking this time—just pure, playful chaos and the chance to make friends (or maybe meet that special someone) while outrunning zombies together.

Accessibility & Rain Plan

  1. SFSU’s upper deck is wheelchair‑accessible; if heavy rain hits (not forecast), the game moves to the bottom level of the main parking garage. Any changes will be announced via the HvZ Discord.

RSVP, sign the waiver, pack your Nerf gear, and we’ll see you on the battlefield! Whether you survive as a human or join the shambling horde, you’ll leave with stories—and maybe new poly pals—to share.
